In what can only be described as a work of God, we have acquired 32 acres of suitable land outside the village of Dumas. This will allow us to produce enough plantains to sustain this investment and support an operating plantain farm. Currently, with local help, we have managed to plant 100 plants and are taking steps towards clearing, fencing and setting up irrigation on the farm land
. As the farm grows, we plan to add to the country’s economy by not only selling our crops to local markets but also surrounding countries:
• 20% of the crop is slated for the local market.
• 30% for larger marketplaces such as nearby Cap Haitien and Port-au-Prince.
• 50% will be exported to nearby islands such as Jamaica, where plantains are also in high demand as a food staple.
We need the help of people with good hearts, deep faith, and an interest in helping people in need to share their knowledge, connections and possibly contribute funds. Above all else, we ask you for your prayers!
